Jacksonville, Florida (NASDAQ-LSTR) Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset based provider of transportation capacity and logistics services, has named Teresa Shepard and Rob Wojczyk the July Employees of the Month at the company’s service centers in Rockford, Illinois, and Jacksonville, Florida, respectively.
Shepard, a freight coordinator in Freight Operations for the Landstar Carrier Group, joined Landstar in June of 2003. She was nominated by her director, a manager, her supervisor and a business capacity owner (BCO) for being a team player and demonstrating a positive, genuinely caring attitude. BCO is Landstar’s term for the independent contractors who provide the company with transportation capacity under exclusive lease arrangements.
“Teresa consistently meets, and often exceeds, her work goals, while maintaining a positive attitude,” said Jamie Lepke, a supervisor in Freight Operations for the Landstar Carrier Group. ”She is a true team player and it is a joy to work with her.”
Shepard is a native of the Rockford area. She and her husband of 18 years, Steve, have a 15-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter. In her spare time, Shepard enjoys eating out, going to movies, shopping and spending time with friends and family.
Wojczyk, a senior system engineer in the IS department of Advanced Technology Operations, has been with Landstar for about three years. He was nominated by a manager in his department for his tireless hard work and dedication to the company.
“He is one of the most effective, diligent, hardworking and dedicated employees I have had the pleasure of working with,” said Steve Reedberry, a manager in IS, Advanced Technology Operations. ”Rob frequently takes initiative to improve our system performance and minimize down time and is an asset to the company.”
A native of the Western Massachusetts area, Wojczyk has lived in Jacksonville since 2001. He and his wife of seven years, Cindy, have two sons, ages three and two. In his spare time, Wojczyk enjoys spending time with his family and playing in a soccer league.
Landstar President and CEO Henry Gerkens commended Shepard and Wojczyk for their dedication and positive attitudes.
