July 22, 2003 Jacksonville, Florida - Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset-based provider of transportation capacity, announced today that Daniel Torok has been named Landstar Carrier Group Vice President, Eastern Region. In his new position, Torok is responsible for overall productivity in the region including new business development, customer support and the recruitment and retention of new agents and business capacity owners.
Torok joined Landstar in 1989 as dispatch support. Since then he has held many positions including Eastern Region Manager.
"Dan's hands-on approach to customer service, combined with his integral knowledge of the company's business model, will serve him well in his new position," said Landstar Carrier Group Executive Vice President Jamie Rohrbaugh. Landstar's Eastern Region covers the northeastern United States including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, along with the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Torok holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania. He lives in Reedsville, Pennsylvania and is an avid outdoorsman.
